Stewardship
Stewardship has been around for as long as humanity has taken care of their communities. In a general sense, stewardship is simply when people go out of their way to look after and nurture something or someone. The word is usually used in regards to the upkeep of a community or an organization but it can also be applied to caring for a person or animal. Farmers would be a good example of stewardship as they maintain the health of their land crops and livestock. However, being a modern-day steward can mean so much more. It can be a call to action. It can be a purpose in life and in the end a steward can leave the world better than it was when they came into it.
The world today is in dire need of modern day stewards willing to make the sacrifices, be active, and put in the work to build things that will help solve the various issues that plague this planet. What the world needs is active stewards not just in maintaining ourselves and our communities but to go a step further by taking part in things that will make improvements to certain situations. These things do not have to be earth shattering achievements. One could start by doing anything from taking care of a sickly animal from the pound to getting involved in charity. No matter how small or insignificant the task may feel; every little step matters.
Newtons third law says that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. While this law of physics pertains to motion, it can also be applied to life and stewardship. An honorable steward can create a wave of positivity in others with their actions which can continue on through others. It is through these actions and achievements that improve the well being of others that a steward can change the world and not even know it.
